APC Committees

APC members get involved. This association is about teamwork; there’s strength in numbers. APC enables you to serve on any of the standing committees, which meet and tackle issues as they surface. The groups are comprised of our members and decision-makers from PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and in some cases FHWA.

Risk Allocation

    • This committee is comprised of representatives from the industry, PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and FHWA. Its purpose is to assist in the equitable distribution of risk between the industry partners. The committee tackles such tough issues as utility relocation delays, Force Account, design/build, Wrap-up Insurance, and warranties/guarantees.

Bridge

    • Among our most popular, the bridge committee works with PennDOT to resolve structural issues and keep abreast of industry developments

Information Technology

    • The APC Information Technology Committee works with PennDOT and the PA Turnpike Commission to identify, apply, and enhance technologies to augment communication of vital bid information and increase project management efficiency.

EEO/DBE

    • APC believes in equal opportunity for businesses of all types and sizes. This committee works with the PennDOT Bureau of Equal Opportunity to make sure the DBE Program remains fair to all contractors.

Safety

    • APC members are concerned about the safety of their employees in the field. This committee works closely with PennDOT and the PA Turnpike Commission to address work zone and general safety concerns.

Prequalification Task Force

    • The Prequalification Task Force has been meeting with PennDOT in 2008 to discuss financial filing requirements as prescribed by the Prequalification Code. In some cases, the Department is finding missing information. The Task Force is working with PennDOT to establish agreed upon filing requirements.
