Construction Career Day - Tuesday, November 10, 2009

Pennsylvania Construction Career Day is an industry sponsored event for high school students to explore career opportunities in highway design, construction, and maintenance. Planned activities include operating heavy equipment, testing materials, surveying, welding, designing a bridge, use of safety equipment, concrete finishing, drilling, rebar tying, estimating a job, use of GPS/GIS information technology, and much more. Small groups of students are escorted by construction industry volunteers who serve as a source of information about the business as well as guides to the activities.

The event will be held at the Allentown Fairgrounds from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Opportunities for the event include sponsorships, exhibitor, or volunteer.
