Last Call!! Request for APC Member Suggestions of Numerical Values for Calculation of the Fuel Price Adjustment for Structure Work.

An article posted on APC’s website on October 22 explained the status of APC’s negotiations with PennDOT for changes in the current specification for calculation of the fuel price fluctuation payment for structure work. The article requests member numerical suggestions for the following:

  1. Gallons of fuel consumed per $1000 of structure work.
  2. Threshold in dollar value of all structure work in a single contract below which there will be no fuel price adjustment.

Suggested gallon and threshold values should be based on omitting the as-bid cost of fabricated steel, pre-stressed beams and “design”cost.

For further details Go Here.

Since one of the main purposes of the proposed specification change for fuel consumed for structure work is to minimize Contractor exposure to excessive rebates to PennDOT during periods when fuel prices are declining, it disappointing to note that there has been almost no member response to this request.

We urge your prompt response to APC by e-mail to lbellanca@paconstructors.org, or by telephone to 717-238-2513, Ext. 104
