Transportation Construction Coalition's "Call the Senate Day," - Wednesday, February 3, 2010

The Transportation Construction Coalition (TCC), which ARTBA co-chairs, has designated Wednesday, February 3, as “Call the Senate Day.” With the House having passed “The Jobs for Main Street Act” in December, which includes $37.2 billion in new federal transportation investment, the action has now moved to the Senate. That chamber is expected to consider its own version of a “jobs bill” in coming days and weeks, so it is vital for the industry to weigh in with your senators of both parties and stress the need for robust transportation infrastructure investment to be part of this bill. As you know, there has been a recent change in the Senate’s partisan lineup (now 59-41 Democrat to Republican), so the situation is very fluid.
