Description:
Requested changes from both designers and fabricators have been incorporated in both the Bridge Design (BD)and Bridge Construction (BC)standard drawings. These bridge standards are targeted for release as March 2010 Editions. The most significant amount of revision effort was to the Sign Structure Standards, which included elimination of Metric Units ( 31 sheets deleted). Additionally, 12 BCs and 15 BDs have been updated and/or revised and are included. An Index of the revised Bridge Standards is included with this letter. Reviewers must download the multiple combined “Comment Enabled” PDF files for each Series. Then review the changes indicated with yellow highlighting and place their review comments using the commenting tools available in Acrobat Reader 7, 8 or 9. Finally, email back their modified PDF files to Gary Gordon. Reviewers are also encouraged to submit suggested changes to bridge standards not included in this transmittal. If accepted they will be incorporated into the new edition of the standards.
Please respond to PennDOT via Electronic Spreadsheet (as directed In Clearance Transmittal) by March 5, 2010. In addition, please forward a copy of your comments to APC's Leonard Bellanca. Comments received by APC will be use to provide a unified response to the Department.
