Heavy/Highway Construction Industry Launches Scholarship Competition

The Constructors Association of Western Pennsylvania is working with Associated Pennsylvania Constructors’ Highway Education Foundation to provide Pennsylvania college and graduate students the opportunity to join in the conversation to craft a better, safer and more integrated 21st century transportation in Pennsylvania, while earning scholarship money for school. The Transportation Infrastructure Solution Scholarship provides full time undergraduates and graduate students the opportunity to win up to $10,000 in scholarship awards for identifying highway safety and enhancement solutions throughout the Commonwealth. Attached to this message is the information that was disseminated to Pennsylvania institutions.

Associated Pennsylvania Constructors (APC) is a trade association consisting of more than 400 members that include contractors, consulting engineers, material suppliers, manufacturers, and others with an interest in Pennsylvania’s road and bridge construction industry. The association has been serving the industry for more than 80 years and represents the majority of active highway contractors in the state.

The Constructors Association of Western Pennsylvania (CAWP) is a trade association representing over 200 heavy and highway construction and construction-related companies operating in the thirty-three counties of western Pennsylvania. CAWP contractors are engaged in the construction of the region’s highways, bridges, tunnels, airport runways, dams, waste treatment facilities, site preparation and utilities installation.
