The Department of Transportation is soliciting bids under emergency procurement procedures to demolish, design, and build 146 buildings used for salt storage across the Commonwealth. The design and build structures will consist of Husky and Hi-Arch Gambreil wood building used to store salt and will range in size from 120' x 80' to 36' x 45'. The buildings have been grouped by geographic regions and will be bid and awarded in that fashion. A total of 8 contracts will be awarded and contractors may bid on any combination of the eight groups. Due to the criticality of these buildings to PennDOT's winter operations, all structure demolitions and builds must be completed by the upcoming winter season.
