Nominations Are Now Being Accepted...

Building on the successful 2018 TQI Awards Banquet, we are calling for nominations for the 2019 TQI Partnering, Diversity, and Community Connection Awards. This award program is part of the association’s plan to be a catalyst for creating a team approach to completing projects that will result in improved quality and cost-effectiveness.

Through TQI, APC has been working with PennDOT and the Turnpike Commission to create a partnering culture.  2018 will see the implementation of a new partnering specification that was collaboratively developed by industry and owner agencies. APC thanks PennDOT Deputy Secretary George McAuley and Turnpike CEO Mark Compton for their leadership in this regard.

The Partnering Awards were established to recognize award-winning projects that were successfully completed in a partnering atmosphere where Partnering had a significant role in the project’s success.

APC’s Values Statement recognizes the value of Diversity in our industry and APC’s Mission Statement includes facilitating the development of a diverse workforce and future industry leaders.  The Diversity Awards will recognize efforts in this area.

In describing the PennDOT Connects program, Secretary Leslie Richards noted that, “We know that transportation plays a huge role in community identities and economies, and we take our responsibility as stewards of the system very seriously.” The Community Connection awards will recognize the positive impact our work has on the quality of life for citizens of Pennsylvania.

These awards will be presented the Second Annual TQI Awards Banquet in connection with the annual APC Innovation Conference April 4-5, 2019 at the Penn Stater Inn and Conference Center in State College, PA
