Construction Material Prices Ease

ovember data suggest the rapid increase in prices for highway construction materials during the past three years may be coming to an end. The cost of highway and street construction materials grew just 5.4 percent in November, compared with the same month in 2005.

It was a smaller increase than in previous months and is in large part due to lower petroleum prices, which are a significant component of the overall highway and street producer price index. For more information, visit the “economics and research” section of www.artba.org.
