The U.S. House Appropriations Committee has announced that the FY07 joint resolution will fund highways and transit at the SAFETEA-LU authorized levels. An ARTBA Washington Update with more details can be accessed by going here. The House will consider this measure tomorrow with the Senate expected to follow next week.
Based upon a chart (PDF) prepared by the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee staff, Pennsylvania gains about $130 million through this action. Congress still hasn’t taken final action on this appropriations bill, but there is cause for optimism that the federal highway and transit programs will be funded at the SAFETEA-LU authorized levels for FY07.
