Several APC members traveled to Washington DC earlier this week to meet with members of the PA Congressional Delegation. The annual event was held in conjunction with the American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) and Transportation Construction Coalition (TCC) Fly-In. The message was clear…fix the Federal Highway Trust Fund now and don’t wait until the expiration of the FAST ACT in 2020. Because the federal Highway Trust Fund is operating in a deficit, it Is imperative that Congress find the revenues to sustain the fund to avoid Pennsylvania losing millions of federal highway dollars.

Meetings were held with congressmen and their staffs over the course of two days. Meeting with APC members were the officers of: Rep. Dwight Evans (D-Philadelphia), Rep. Connor Lamb (D-Allegheny), Rep. Bill Shuster (R-Blair), Rep. Keith Rothfus (R-Beaver), Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Erie), Rep. Lloyd Schmucker (R-Lancaster), Rep. Scott Perry (R-York), and Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA).
