James “Jim” A. Foringer, P.E., has been appointed the District Executive for the northwestern region of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).
In his new position, Foringer is responsible for overseeing all functions in PennDOT District 1-0, which serves Crawford, Erie, Forest, Mercer, Venango, and Warren counties.
“Jim is a trusted and respected leader in the department,” said PennDOT Secretary Leslie S. Richards. “He brings with him a wealth of knowledge from years of experience working for PennDOT in the Pittsburgh and Harrisburg areas.”
Foringer started his career with PennDOT in District 11, which serves the Pittsburgh area, as a Civil Engineer Trainee. He has held various positions over his 33 years with the department, including Construction Project Engineer, Construction Quality Assurance Engineer, Structure Control Engineer, Principal Assistant Construction Engineer, and Assistant District Executive for Construction.
