This week, a Keystone Transportation Funding Coalition (KTFC) legislative briefing was led by APC’s Bob Latham and Pennsylvania Public Transportation Association’s Dave Kilmer to over 100 attendees of PPTA’s Spring Conference in Lancaster.
Bob opened up the discussion with an overview of the current state of transportation and then called on industry leaders, including several members of the KTFC, to provide their perspectives on the challenges they face.
Those who provided insights included PennDOT Deputy Secretary for Multimodal Transportation Jennie Granger, PA Turnpike Commission Director of Legislative Affairs Charles Duncan, Port Authority of Allegheny County Senior Government Relations Officer Dan DeBone, Former State Representative Pat Krebs, American Council of Engineering Companies of PA Executive Director Leeann Sherman, PA Statewide Independent Living Council Public Policy and Outreach Coordinator Jeff Iseman, Greater Reading Chamber Alliance Senior Vice President of Government & Community Relations Gail Landis, and Lancaster Chamber Community Impact Director Heather Valudes.
Elected officials in attendance included Representatives David Zimmerman, Mindy Fee, Steven Mentzer, Brett Miller and Bryan Cutler—who briefly addressed the group and encouraged those in attendance to send him key statistics and information surrounding the transportation funding issue.
Thank you to all KTFC members who attended and spoke, keeping the importance of broad multimodal transportation funding at the forefront of the minds of policymakers.
