The PA Department of Transportation (PennDOT) recently issued a Strike-Off Letter and guidance on some additional measures needed to comply with the PA Steel Products Procurement Act. PennDOT is implementing the changes as a result of a national FHWA audit and they will take effect immediately.
Several documents, which you can download below, are being revised but not notably will be form CS-4171 where new check-off boxes are added to clarify if steel products on the job are identifiable or unidentifiable. Going forward, companies will be required to maintain the original form at the company’s main location, but if you receive material shipments from other companies related to PennDOT projects, the compliance forms must be kept on file at your location. These files must be available for inspection and verification by PennDOT for a period of not less than three years from the date of the last shipment.
