• Make it stop.  The dominant topic in the halls of the Capitol is Pennsylvania’s response to the COVID-19 (Corona Virus).  While many would certainly like to entirely stop rapidly spreading virus, efforts are underway to slow and contain the outbreak.  Governor Wolf and his administration are providing daily—and sometimes hourly–updates which can be viewed HERE.  A lot of information regarding the virus and how you can take precautions can be viewed here.
  • Closures and Shut Downs.  At this point, PennDOT has halted all constructions projects in Montgomery County for two weeks.  Additionally, the department has closed the District 6-0 Office and executive staff are working remotely at this time.  For an update on how APC is monitoring the situation, go here.
  • More Cancellations.  The upcoming House Transportation Committee Hearing on March 16 was canceled.  We previously reported to you that APC was scheduled to testify on the House Infrastructure Task Force’s 10-bill legislative package.  More on that, go here.  Also canceled next week is the March 17 PHIA Policy Leaders Breakfast with PennDOT Executive Deputy Secretary George McAuley.  There is no known rescheduled date at this time for both the hearing and the breakfast.
  • Be safe.  We all should take some time to reflect and perhaps re-evaluate our health safety measures during times like these.  Check in with an at-risk loved one.  We want everyone to be aware and be safe.  A special thanks to all those in the health care community who will rise up during times like this and put themselves on the front lines of dealing with this virus outbreak.
