APC members and staff met with several members of Congress this week as part of the American Road and Transportation Builders (ARTBA) annual Fly-In. Although several topics were discussed at each meeting, the main message was to ensure Pennsylvania receives as much of the discretionary monies as possible under the recently enacted federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). The new law includes over $32 billion in competitive grant funding for all modes of transportation. Pennsylvania has aggressively pursued these funds in order to address its infrastructure needs. Meetings were held with Senator Bob Casey as well as Congressmen Evans (D-Philadelphia), Meuser (R-Bloomsburg), Perry (R-Harrisburg/York), Smucker (R-Lancaster), Thompson (R-State College), and Kelly (R-Erie). Rep. Wild (D-Allentown) will meet with the group virtually in the near future.
