Legislative Action Pending on Funding, Electric Vehicles, Work Zone Speed Enforcement and Design Build
The TCI-PAC Board met Wednesday with Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Scott Martin (R-Lancaster) to discuss several issues. Martin indicated that getting the State Police budget out of the Motor License Fund is a given but just a matter of how much over what period of time. The Senate Transportation Committee yesterday, voted in favor of SB 656 establishing a “Road User Fee” for electric vehicles. The House Transportation Committee is schedule to take up the issue of Speed Cameras but the status of our Automated Work Zone Speed Enforcement reauthorization is somewhat murky at this point. APC, ACEC and PennDOT are completing negotiations on Design Build Best Value enabling legislation. APC executive vice president Bob Latham recently discussed these issues in detail during an interview on the cable show Behind the Headlines (view below).

Future Schedule
The House of Representatives adjourned this week and will reconvene on Monday, June 12. The State Senate, however, will not reconvene until Monday, June 19.
